Slow down and savor…

Oh, the goodness of God!

Whose power is displayed across the universe.

The creative brilliance seen in each detail,

Lovingly aware of each one of us.

Oh, the goodness of God!

Drawing us in to comfort and care.

Offering the assurance of redemption,

And a sacred and safe space to call our own.

Oh, the goodness of God!

Exemplified in the cross and resurrection

And witnessed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Oh, the goodness of God!

Declaring we belong.

Following us every moment,

Providing the fullness of the life that is offered.

Oh, the goodness of God!

Nothing is sweeter and satisfies!

Let’s take a moment to breathe. Slow down and pull back from the ruckus of life. It is far too easy to get snagged or stuck; causing us to neglect the beauty of what God has for us. We can spend an abhorrent amount of time over theorizing or theologizing the simple beauty and goodness of God. Life can also become so full and busy that we neglect the simple. Now, as we have transitioned, let’s sit back and be intentional to slow down and enjoy the beauty and goodness of our God. Moses, after crossing the Red Sea took time to sing of God’s goodness, and so did David, as he lived in a constant rhythm of singing God’s goodness. Reflecting and recounting God’s goodness not only encourages us but leads us to worship.
